Forgot to turn on the Alarmclock, so I was a late getting on the water. Didn't launch till around 7:30, shoot!!! Sun broke through right before my first cast. Shoot!!! Ended up with 3 to about 2.5lbs. One was a dink, and the other was average. White blade brought me 2, the other fell to a Senko (some type of green). All three came before 9, along with a couple farmed ones. Then from 9 till 11:30 only had one bite, swung cranked a couple times, fish went for air, and my blade was prematurely returned. Then it was back to the launch area. Let's just say the walk back to the truck with my yak was hell. 100 yards, uphill, in the sand.

Wind was really bad, their was a good 1' chop by 10am.

A special thanks to Brian. If he hadn't warned me about the sand, I would have probably have driven right into the worst of it. As it was, the guy working there didn't even mention the problem until we (I met another yakker at the gate) asked about it. I guess 3 cars had to be pulled out yesterday. You'd think they'd have a sign out to warn people. Heck, they ought to have a sign with directions to the new launch area. If I hadn't met the other yaker, I probably wouldn't have found it.

I have been fishing Hodges during the summer, but the last time (about two weeks ago) I got stuck in some mud so I haven't been back. It sounds like you're talking about an area with sand. Did they move the launch area? From where did you launch?
