Try Rock Creek in the valley above Tom's Place. There are lots of campgrounds in the valley with bathrooms and lots of easy to catch stoked trout in the creek. There are also native trout, if you know how to catch them. There is also good hiking in Little Lakes Valley, which is higher up the valley past Rock Creek Lake. It's fairly easy hiking and great fishing for natives in the streams in between the lakes. Speaking of Rock Creek Lake, there is also good fishing in the lake, if your more familiar with that type of fishing. Try using small panther martins with the black body and red spots either from shore or boat, or you can troll a wolly worm fly. Just check before you go because I heard there was a fire recently in that area, but I think it mainly effected the Lower Rock Creek area.
