Went down to do some shore fishing at Puddingstone today. Sailboat cove was packed! There was many shore anglers and 3 boats in that little section of the lake. No one seemed to be catching anything but bass lined the shore. Most of these bass were small, like 6-10 inches, but every once and a while i would see a big bass swim by were i was fishing that looked about5 or 6 pounds. I wasnt getting bit on my jig so i got out a 7" osprey. Many fish followed but no takers. Just about everyone i talked to said that they had no luck also. In the back of sailboat cove a family was catching tiny bluegill on bobbers and mealworms.

I appreciate the report you posted Andrew. Me and a friend have been kicking around the idea of tubing Puddingstone. It has been more than 10 years since either of us have been there. Where would be a good place to start there with a tube? Is there any structure on the shoreline, or is it pretty much all beach with underwater structure?

Thanks for the info,
Terry G.

I would suggest starting your way at sailboat cove and moving out from there. This is the area with the most shore cover. Sailboat cove is fairly narrow and can get very crowded when there are a couple boats inside, but the area around the cove has a lot of cover and fish. Try using white tubes and white jigs which have produced for me many times.
