Can anyone recommend a place where I can buy them in the Bay Area? Also, how do you hook the little buggers?

Thanks,

Not sure where you can buy them. But as for the hook part I use a #4 or #6 Beak hook made by Mustad. If you look at the crawdads head he has alittle hood over his eyes gently put the hook though there.

Hey Fish,

I'm not sure that you will find crawdads in the Bay Area, but if you don't mind an hours drive Delta Bait and Tackle(Fishermans Warehouse) in Manteca carries them. They also have a much better selection of artificials than anything in the Bay Area. (Exept maybe Walton's) If you decide to venture that way, you might want to call first. I've been there before and they were out. As far as hooking them, I don't really know. I only fished with them a couple of times and never really did any good. So I must have been doing it wrong.;) But I was hooking them through the nose. I had alot of them get crushed by fish, but only hooked up on a couple. I miss fewer fish than that on jigs. I'll tell you what though, after what Nico and Chris did at Coyote, I'm gonna buy a bucket full and drown me some dads this weekend!!!j/k

Clay

Coyote Bait & Tackle has them sometimes, I think they have some now if they haven't run out already.

go to http://www.trophybassonly.com and read Chris' article on crawdad fishing. Chris is the man on this subject. I learned a ton from him on Wednesday!
