Matt, Summer, and I packed in to my boat today for an afternoon at the lake. The weather was great for
getting a tan but a little sunny and bright for the fish I think. We cruised the banks for about five hours
throwing assassins, jigs, speed traps, the ac minnow, and the moss master frog. Matt got a small one right off
on an assassin, but after that we had a long dry spell before I boated a two pounder over in Salsipuedes bay
on the minnow. About 15 minutes later I caught another one but it was a dink. We moved back to the
marina cove in the late afternoon, but couldn't make it happen. Matt had a nice fish chase a buzzbait, and I
farmed one that I watched eat my zipper worm, but it really was just kind of tough fishing. I would try fishing
early and late in the day and maybe worm or vertical jig the deep water midday. We tried it a little with no
luck, but the fish just didn't' seem to be up shallow as they often are.
