18233, San Luis mussel inspection

Effective October 1st. ALL boats, float tubes & kayaks will need to be inspected for mussels. This applies to the Forebay, San Luis (main) and Los Banos creek reservoir.

Majority if not all water that is in the forebay and main lake is from the Delta. Guess the Delta will be next on the list to have mussel inspections.

The stupidity of these programs continues to impress.

Anyone can go to El Capitan reservoir in San Diego, which has quagga mussels, pull off the water and drive straight to the California Delta - launching at any launch ramp - and spread mussels to the whole place.

Yet they guard places like lake Casitas as if it were Fort Knox. And now they are going to guard places like San Luis Reservoir, which is fed pretty much entirely by the Delta.

Nevermind Don Pedro, McClure, and New Melones. All huge lakes, with thousands of visitors in the summer time, that feed the Delta. Arighty then!!!

Total nonsense !

Lets say that they someday find mussels (hope not) in San Luis. Would the Feds stop sending water through the Central Valley Water Project down south ? I don't think so.
