Ryan, I thought I saw that you used to guide Almanor in the past. Are you still guiding up there? I have a trip April 27-29th, and checking on getting a day on your boat for the day!

Thanks,

Paul

Hey,

Well, I guess I should have told folks, but shortly after I started up Mountainbass, I got accepted into the fisheries biology program here at UC Davis, so I basically moved down the Davis and put all my fishing stuff on the backburner; At least for now. I am either in my room reading and writing lab reports, books, papers, (occassionally a bit of calfishing :P), working in my lab, or in class.

Its really awesome learning as much as I am about fish, but at the same time, I havent done any serious fishing yet this year!

Let me know a week or two before you head up there and I would be glad to help you get some toad smallies though.

Congrats on getting into UC Davis' fisheries dept, but too bad to hear you're not guiding on Almanor anymore! Sounds like a good way to refine your bass fishing...even when not fishing! I fished Almanor once from a bass-converted valco, so without a "real" big motor, I stuck to the northeast end, caught a bunch of fish, but no toads! I'll definitely give you a shout before I head up, especially if a storm is in the forecast! My buddy who's joining me from CO, is pushing to get out on a big boat, so do you know of anyone else who is guiding almanor that lives up there?

Thanks bud!

Paul

Ya a fellow quincy bass club guy I know Ted Pilgrim guides up there. He is a great fishermen. I fished a tourney one time on Almonor, had a 16+lb sack of smallies and thought I had the win, but he came in with a bigger one!
I dont know his contact information, but look up ted pilgrim in the chester phone book and you'll find him.
