Posted by Tm Customs, Wed Feb-08-06 12:58 AM
Well I cought a few hitch at clear lake sunday and snapped a pic (sorry it's not better) as most people said there pretty blue, my friend Larry had cought one around 1 year ago at clear lake that was more gold kinda like the blackfish I cought awhile back. Anyhow I figure a few of you guys would like to see this pic to help you immatate the colors

Thanks Taylor. So Thaaaat's what the 'famed' Clear Lake Hitch looks like. It actually looks ALOT like a whitefish. Whitefish a prolific pelagic fish that is in northern lakes and is a great eating fish. Have any of you guys ever tried "Planked Hitch"? On a serious note, is the hitch an oily fleshed fish or just a 'white' fleshed fish? Jes' curious. Fanx -- Alex

Hey, Thanks for the pic. If you get another one, try taking a photo out of direct sunlight. I noticed both Steve and your photographs had a lot of glare, so it's hard to tell exactly how silvery the fish is.

Nico the fish is very silver if I were going to try an immitate it I would go w/ foil sides w/ grey and blue on the top. If I catch another I will get some good pics.

Its nice to see some more clear lake hitch pics. Does anyone know if that picture is a so called "clear lake hitch" or just Hitch? I've herd that they are different in color and the "clear lake hitch" is almost gone. Seems to me all the browns, golds, and yellow baits were made to look like one hitch and it looks like all the pictures of hitch lately might be a different species. All the new photos I have seen have been real silver looking, alot like this most recent photo. any of you looking for swim baits in this silvery color should check out the River2sea baits hitch color it looks a lot like both Steve's pic. and the newest pics.
