planning to head up to lake mendocino soon to check out how the fishing is up their. Anybody have any tips on were I should go on the lake and what should i use. I have also heard theirs stripper in their but I need help on what kind of tackle I should use. Any tips will help.

For stripers, throw trout pattern swimbaits early and late where the Russian River flows into Mendo on the north side.

I know the smallies are there but I've never fished for 'em in there.

Thanks for the info it will really help me out. Hopefully I can catch some nice size strippers if I do it will be the first one of my life. I will also try to catch me some smallmouth. I am planning to take my kickboat out also and if I'm not catching much at lake mendocino I will probably head up to clear lake.

The dude to contact is scwafish up that way. He slays em on mendo and would probably fish with you. check out his latest kayak outing.
