What KIND of respect did the kid earn?

Well, the sign didn't say: "kid can't fish". it just said "no fishing".
Kid rationalized every-which-way to justify his fishing when "no fishing" is posted.

Judges hear this stuff ALL THE TIME....just before the gavel comes down at time of sentancing.
