The analogy of a "girlfriend" and a "car" on the one hand and the red rock area on the other does not hold. Red rock is a public domain, a part of a national forest supported by taxpayers and users. I hope that nobody's girlfriend is a public domain (supported by users) and that everyone has a legal exclusive title to one's car. Besides, I hear of no complaints on this thread about how we are all "sharing" the SY River without the express consent or delight of the original longtime locals, the Chumash Native Americans.

Those on different sides of this issue are apparently all decent well-intentioned anglers. And, I do respect the other point of view. I must admit to not being very forthcoming in the past about some "secret" spots I know of in other parts of the State when I thought that the area was too small to take the pressure. "SB Local" has a point, and his opinion is a natural and understandable one that should be seriously considered. Let us agree to disagree, and to keep sharing conflicting opinions.
