Seth and I got to the lake late tonight around 6:30. There was a trout plant (probably the last of the year)
earlier so we were pumped. We started out by the docks and Seth got a trout and had a bunch of bites on
the super duper. I was throwing the AC minnow and on the marina point hooked up on a solid 3lb 4oz'er.
Then we headed across the cove and spent the rest of the evening fishing the marina cove. It basically went
off. I wound up with 6 nice fish from 2 - 3 1/2 pounds all on the minnow. They were going ballistic on the
thing, coming out of tulles and trees from 10-15 feet to attack it. I had one come literally within a foot of the
boat, I stop reeling, and it nails it. While I'm trying to unhook the fish it goes nutso (I think it was a little fresh
since the fight lasted about 1 second on 15 pound) and the VMC teflon coated hook catches my pinky
leaving the fish's weight on my little finger. Blood. Cussing. I tossed the fish back and unhooked myself.
Luckily it didn't go past the barb so I kept fishing. Seth hooked up a solid fish around 4lb on a power worm
towards the back, the biggest one of the day. We got some cool photos and had a kick ass time for only 2
hours on the water. The WON bass makeup tournament is this weekend so hopefully they don't kill the bite
too much ( or read this and fish the AC minnow and win the tournament hell our top 7 fish would probably
have gone 25lb ) but anyway, that's the word.
