12190, What a shame...Puddingstone 1/22/04

This morning I stopped by Puddingstone and found a nice size bass flapping slowly in circles on its side. I pulled it to see if there was any visible cause for its suffering (i.e. hooks or line wrapped). However, I could not see any reason why. I tried to "encourage" it to start swimming but it was doomed. I pulled it out of the water and gave it to Doug. I will post on what he finds after he does an autopsy. What a shame!

I think it was about 3 pounds at least and very healthy looking...well, except the dying part.

I have a feeling someone caught it deep and didn't needle the fish. x(
