The last day might be Jan. 31st. ;( :( Hopefully the powers of government will find a way to keep it open to the public. For support of Castaic Lake please go to: www.savecastaiclake.org

Silly question, but what is the plan for Castaic after "if" it is closed to the public?

So instead of collecting some revenue from boaters/fishermen, they will spend money in security? Again government folks impress me. I would much rather collect some money, meager as it may be, than to shut down the doors and just have it sucking money from the purse for security.

Permits may still be available to film crews, etc. Just no public fishing & no public recreation. I don't think there will be any "extra security", but the local sheriffs will be very glad to issue tickets, have cars towed, and arrest any one who violates the law. I do believe the sheriffs will be looking for violators! They itch for action. I wonder what the most severe punishment for trespassing is?

Yeah I doubt they will hire any extra security, cause they definatly dont need it,the sheriff has that place on lock down. They have been thick lately, maybe because of the night fishing.Private security would be a cake walk compared to the real deal .Big fish drive me,but a drive in the back of a black and white is not worth the biggest fish in the lake. And there are some megaloid toads in there too, what a shame if they close the doors, thats like closeing disneyland.
Is the lagoon going to be closed too or just the big lake??

I got popped at Perris about a year ago and the fine was 100$ and one year of probation. Not too bad but the whole process left a bad taste in my mouth.....and no doudle d's to show for it.
