This may sound a little silly, but what is meant by "catchable-size rainbow trout"? What size range is that?

usually means dfg 3 to a pound size trout. around 8 inch fish.

Usually means anything they feel like throwing in the water, 4 inches to 12lbs:-)

Rarely even a 10 lber. More like a half a lb. to 4 lbs. In local So. Cal. lakes & streams. I have seen real small fries, too.
