I have never been there and was thinking of taking my kid up there for vacation at the end of August. Now do they have a number to call for reservations? And how is the heat this time of year up there? Do they allow swimming in the lake? Does any one have any recent fishing info on this lake? How is the panfishing for kids? I will be targeting the bass. Any other info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff-

Santa Margarita Lake is a beautiful place to fish. Here are some links that might help:
http://www.slocountyparks.com/information/reservations.htm
http://www.santamargaritalakemarina.com/fishing.html

The heat up there right now is in the 90's with a gentle breeze. Swimming is not allowed in the lake, but there is a pool next to the main campground. Panfishing always seems good up there.

Hope this helps,
Mickster.
