10465, Using Swimbaits in Small City Lakes

I fished Echo park(small city lake-15acres) today from 4pm to 9pm...got skunked...not a bite....I was throwing a Megabait Charlie, both 5 inch and 6 inch versions(rainbow trout)...and was also fishing with tubes and jigs....the water clarity was about 1 foot...murky green...

So my question is...do you guys just go to a lake...and just start casting the swimbait like mad...or you target specific spots...How many cast should one average in one spot before moving on to another spot? I casted on average 4-5 cast in any single direction that I casted to...and I fan casted(bank fishing). This lake I fished was averaging 3-4 feet deep and deepest points were around 8feet...I was using the humminbird smartcast sonar watch...

I tried casting along the bank...casting straight out....varying my retrieves...between slow rolling it on the top creating a wake with its tail...and also running the trout 2 feet below the surface...the water was murky so once a while I twitch it hoping a bass can hone in on it....but nothing...

Toward later in the evening I started to also use heddon crazy crawler and also a topwater popper...all the way till it was dark...and nothing...

The more advise and tips from you pro swimbaiters the merrier!...everyone on the lake got skunked today too....except the catfishermen....This lake has tons of bass(my PB was caught here...8lbs)...but I have seen 12 to 15 pounders...and there were tons of bass averaging 4lbs...
