Try to find a SLOW back-eddie and put either a butterflied shad or anchovie with no weight near the center of the eddie or fairly close to shore(10ft out). Do this at night with either a loud bell or clicker on the reel. Put the rod in a strong rod holder and move away from the area. Far enough away so the fish don't see lights or feel the vibrations of you walking around. If you can see most of your rod your probably too close. Live shad or other 3-5" minnows work well too, but may need a splitshot or 2 to keep them in the right area.

Tight lines,
Wade

P.S. This method has accounted for more than 50 cats over 10# from the Delta, Berryesa, and other area lakes and rivers.(2 over 20# from L.Berryesa and Anderson L.
