Susanne and I left work an hour early Sunday and grabbed the gear and the boat and ran up to Margarita for what we thought would be a nice, warm afternoon's fishing but on the way up we got rain on the windshield and when we got to the lake it was blowing and raining. We headed into the river anyway and tried throwing frogs on the mats but I think the cool weather put that bite off and we threw rattletraps and senkos which caught us a few fish. Susanne had the big one, 4.5, and a big crappie on her 'trap. I did get one bite on the frog in open water and both of hooked bullfrogs that came out of nowhere and ate the frog. Ricos and spooks got nothing for us and we headed back to the ramp and home where I lit a fire in acknowledgement of the rain and will now enjoy a warming beverage.
