went to pyramid on tues. went to yellowbar after fishing the docks with no luck for stripers. fished drop shot chovies for a waste of an hour. decided to try for some slabs in the brush. tied on a 2 inch chartruese shad with a 1/16 leadhead. first cast, whammo!! a trout. thought that was strange because i have never caught trout on plastics before. thought it was a fluke until i put another trout in the boat! next couple of casts hooked a large fish that took me straight down into the brush and broke me off. probably a large striper. tried a homemade crappiespinner and started to nail nice one pound crappie. the wind was blowing very hard. so hard, it was hard to fish and navigate at the same time. good day with my homegrown lures.
