I went to Shadow Cliffs after work yesterday. Didn't get on the water until 6:30 or so. I hit the main pond in my tube for starters. Went from the marina to the very back of the lake. Threw the slammer and a 5 inch fish trap the whole way down. Not a darn thing. The water was really warm and really clear. There was a lot of small bait fish right on the surface but no bass to be seen anywhere. My only guess is that they are out deep although they didn't want the swimbait fished in 10 to 20. So I said what the heck, got out at the far end and hoofed it over to the island pond. Jumped in and threw topwater. Got one on a rio rico and one on a super spook in about 20 minutes of fishing before the ranger came and booted me and the other 2 guys in there. Both fish were 13 inchers. It was fun but I sure am getting sick of the main lake. The only fish I've caught in there was the very first time I went there and caught a 3lber on a 9 inch slammer. Since then it's been brutal tough.
