My friend Karl (Okiebug) & I made a weak effort for bass in the morning for nothing. Did a little metering around before deciding to get to work on what we came for. We set up an assortment of trap rigged 3" Rainbow Trout & Sea Wolf Big Hammer's, Needle Fish, Pinz Minnow's, Pheobe, Rapala's & a Thomas Bouyant. About 30 minutes later one of the downrigger's with a Hammer pops the rubber band & it's on. It was a little bit of firedrill since we were trolling 5 rods on my little 14 alum. boat but it all worked out:

That fish ended up weighing just under 4 lbs. Now another Hammer replaced the spoons & the gear goes back out, this time with much more confidence. We had one lure pop off the downrigger but didn't see why. Karl missed a bite on a Needlefish & 1 on the Pinz before my Hammer went off again. This fish put on a great fight, pulling very hard:

This one came in at 6.3:

That was it except for 1 open water lg. mouth that ate a needlefish.

We came back sun. for another quick morning & to do a little exploring but we had a hard time keeping the lg. mouth off our lures today? Deep Open Water bass suspended?

We did come across a school of Deep Open Water Blue Gill? Double hook-up on the leadcore, Needlefish & Pinz:

Off the water by 10: AM sun.
