Another beautiful day at Castaic. No wind, no obnoxious PWCs, a couple skiers EARLY in the AM. (an absolutely perfect morning to ski) Went up with my buddy, smokemaster, in his boat.

Saw a striper landed in the marina area by a guy on his first cast of the day with a lure he just bought the night before. He was stoked!!! Congrats and applause all around.

Chased crashing LMB around the fishing arm in the AM. WAY too much bait in the water for serious biters on our cranks; we got hits but not really serious. Those bassies are going to be even bigger in the spring. :)

Cruised over to "striper territory" about noon. the boats anchored by the bouys didn't look to active (we didn't stop to chat to see how the AM bite was). so we just kinda cruised around to see if we could meter any possibilities. no luck. so we just kinda went exploring back into that "private skiers cove". TEE HEE HEE.

The "old reliable" of my tackle box came through yet again. 2 1/2" shad-colored ra-PAW-la *shallow diver* on 6# got one about 15" and one right at 21". COOL!!! My first ever Castaic Stripers! I can't tell you how many times we skied over these guys back in the mid-70's. and now they're my dinner! ME and the KITTY are stoked! (she got the fresh, bloody pieces from the filets)
