Did you guys hear that Roland Martin signed with Yamamoto? I think that signing with a company like that might make his repitutation a little bit more credible!

No doubt, amazing fat plastic creatures!!!!! I hope Gary Yamamoto doesn't stoop to having Helicopter Boy pimping the Senkos on a freaking paid programming add at 3 a.m.! (He won't! :)) It's hard enough trying to keep those things a secret on my local lakes as it is!!! I don't need the crack smokers who are watching Roland at 4 in the morning showing up with bags of Senkos!!

Yamamoto is going to be huge. This is a natural progression. Roland may be a bit kooky, but the guy still wacks 'em.

9 time angler of the year? Roland is sick.

Yamamoto ought to sell a clue to the rest of the businesses in the fishing industry. Is he going to start making boats?

As a sponsored tournament bass fisherman myself. You have to relize what Roland has done in his career.Sure now days he is way more into promotional gigs then winning tournaments and I'm sure his decision to go with yamamoto was all political.Just because someone sign's with a particular company shouldnt ever change the way he is looked at in the public eye.Yamamoto baits is a great company with a strong product and is probally looking to become a more popular national bait company, what better way to do it then sign one of the top 5 most visible bassfisherman in the world. This sounds like a good long lasting relationship. Its all about fishing for a living, which is most of our dreams and Roland is living it.

BTW: You talk about the helicopter lure,if a bait company offered you $250K to go to a pond and catch some fish on there lure and show it works.Wouldnt you?

So what your saying is that we need to leave Roland on the Barni page? That's what it sounds like to me!

If thats where he was before he signed with Yamamoto then he should stay there. He is the same person just with a new sponsor.Boat sponsors are the worst someone signs with Ranger they are awesome then they sign with Pro Craft and hang up ranger, they are concidered an idiot and not liked anymore a few years later they sign with Triton and they are cool again, its the same person. It happens all the time.Just because they are with a product we like or dislike doesnt mean we should judge them by who they represent, its a business at there level. Judge them by angling skills and personallity.

This could create a good topic.

sorry to bring this back up again, but I watched his show today, and "woa son," this guy has to be the biggest pusher of a sponsor since Shaw Grigsby. he must have said the work senko 20 times between each commercial brake today. Just for that, I think he deserves a lifetime membership to the Barni Board.
