5031, Jerk bait rod

I have not thrown many jerk baits and usually throw swimbaits. I guess it is time to evolve and learn some new techniques. I plan on throwing the Lucky Craft Pointer 128 and would like some reccomendations on rods. I love the Kistler Helium series what do you guys think would be a good jerk bait rod for lures up to 3/4 oz?

Thanks in advance
Peace Rich

you definitely need at least a medium heavy rod, six foot six is a good size but you can get away with a six foot rod.

I was checking out tacklewarehouse.com and seen the have a Castaway XP3 Series Jerk N Twitch rod 6'6" long with a medium heavy action for 129.99 that handles lures 5/16-3/4oz. That is not a bad deal. I can honesty say I have not heard anything about these rods but if tackle warehouse carries it, it should be alright.

I tried looking for other rods but there are so many. That castaway seems good for the price, thats what I would try personally. Look around tackle warehouse, you should be able to find what you are looking for.

I origonally thought the 128 pointer was 3/4 but it is actually 1 0z. I have a St Croix med heavy 6' 6" 3/8 to 1. I think this may be the rod I use. I will get out on the water tues and check her out.
Thanks

Used the Kistler 7' XH 1/2 > 1 1/2 LTA and a Calcutta 201 DC and I was real happy with it throwing the 128 pointer. Looks like I am set for big and small jerkbaits.
Thanks
