4953, What are you going to do????

Well... Rob said it best when Casitas closed to outside boats... The first domino has fallen. It seems like every week, another lake is implementing their version of restirctions / inspections. Some of them are talking about or implementing the "lock and chain" technique where your boat is locked onto the trailor when you leave the lake. If the lock or chain is tampered with, you will not be allowed to come back to the lake without going through a quarrantine period. For me... this just won't work. I have pretty much written off Casitas (which I have considered my "home" lake even though I am 125 miles away). Mission Viejo is implementing the same thing next week I heard. Lopez I heard was not allowing boats south of Santa Barbara county (not sure if this is true or not). It seems like it is going to be really tough for us to do what we used to do. I have no idea what lake(s) to focus on based on how I fish and the size of fish I care to chase. There are other lakes to fish but it looks like it is a game of follow the leader with the water districts. It may come down to the point where we have to pick one lake we want to fish and that is our option. It will surely make the tournament organizations change the way they conduct "circuits".

Anyways... I am having a hard time figuring out what to do. If it came down to that would you be able to pick one lake to fish?

Hopefully it won't come down to that but if it did... how would you feel?

Picking 1 lake to fish all the time would take a lot of fun out of fishing. I enjoy fishing different bodies of water through out the year. I do admit though if I had to choose 1 I would go along with it and be thankful I at least had the 1 lake to fish. With that said, my boat would be a clear lake boat and my kickboat would be a delta boat.

Hey I could always sell the ranger and buy 2-3 aluminum boats for different bodies of water each, right?

On another note. I would hate to be a tournament director right now. Creating a "circuit" is going to be very challenging if not impossible in '09.
