Since this group has some pretty hardcore fishermen/women ,I thought I would ask all of you what is your favorite lines for these waters?
1.Freshwater-my favorite is P-line so far, everything from trout to the ocean for my 6 lb p-line.
2.Saltwater-Trilene big game-its the only trilene I like
3 Braided or superline-I like power pro,not too slick not too rough either.
thanks for your input, maybe we will have some favorites others can try .
please catch and release all non put and take fish we need all the bites we can get!!

I think that many anglers pretty much agree with you, but you would have received replies if you had been more specific about the species and the techniques in which you were interested, instead of just salt vs. freshwater. For example, in saltwater I use 30 lb Maxima Perfection or P Line to troll for salmon, 12 lb Maxima Perfection or P Line with a fluorocarbon leader if I am mooching for salmon, 15 to 30 lb Maxima Perfection or P Line when drifting for large norcal halibut in deeper water, 15 lb MP or PLine for stripers in the surf, 30 lb Izor braid or Trilene XT (out of habit because I was using it before Big Game came on the market) for jigging and swimbaiting for big norcal lings, 12 or 15 lb MP or Line drifting-casting for calicos from a boat, 6 to 8 lb MP or P Line trolling for trout, 4 to 6lb MP or P Line drifting for trout, and 4 lb MP or P Line bank fishing for trout.

There are often many other good choices, and each angler has a favorite line, and sometimes a hated line. Much of the varying opinions about a particular line may have to do with the possibility of a defective spool of an an otherwise good line. For example, I once had an early production spool of the original Maxima (not Perfection) break when I simply tossed a minnow with about 1/16 oz of shot pinched on. Unlike some other anglers, I have never had problems with Trilene XT or XL, but I did have problems with Trilene Ultrafine (or was it Ultrathin?).

It is interesting to me that you mention Power Pro, because Swimbait and some others on this board have had bad experiences with it (abraiding easily and breaking), whereas others have never had any problem with it. I am going to give Power Pro a try ling fishing in norcal next month. I would like to hear more about other anglers' experiences with Power Pro.
