25, beginner fisherman needs help

I'm a beginner fisherman and would be interested in any personal info on Lopez of Santa Margarita Lakes since they are the closest to my house. Lake Cachuma would also be a posibility. I'll be fishing from the shore with lightweight spinning gear. I've been exploring this site and it's helped alot. I also posted a similar message on the freshwater reports message board. I haven't been fishing since my teenage years(30 years ago) which was mainly lake trout fishing with eggs or cheese for bait or lures. Now I'm interested in fishing for bass, too. Anything to help me get started catching fish and having fun would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

Use to live in Atascadero from 1955 to1973 when I went into the navy. Then was back there for a short time the 80's.Have been back to lopaz a few times but not to many at Margarita.Use to stay at the dam area when I was at high school a friend of mine father ran the Dam and so have been from one end of that lake to the other.Bass could always be caught around the swimming pool area when the tules were up.And also around the park area on the south end of the lake but from the shore it's tuff.Trout fishing out at lopaz was always good. But for bass I would fish San Antonio go uo the creek arms and fish the trees.Don't forget to fish fort hunter lagett. There is alot of nice ponds on that base. And alot of bass. You got to get a permit and fish only the ponds they have open at that time if they are running any military excersises.A call up there well get you imfo and current imfo.Blue1haven@aol.com
