Can anybody tell me anything about this reel. Is it any good? I use mainly Shimanos, but I picked this up pretty cheap. Any comments are welcomed. Thanks RUss

I have heard that they were out about 3 or so years ago and that they were quickly replaced by the current tdx models because they had something with the drags... Then again, I am not an equipment expert.
The line was the TDX-103PiA and the TDX-103HiA or something like that

The Pi is 5:1 gear ratio and the Hi is 6:1 gear ratio.
They were made from 1994 to 1997. They were replaced
by the Pv at 5:1 gear ratio and the Hv at 6:1 gear ratio
made from 1997 to 2001.

The link bellow will help. Go to the end of the page.

They are very cool reels, they cast like a dream and I have had mine for 5 or 6 years now and I must say it was worth the $200 I paid because it casts crankbaits a mile. The only problem is I have used it for ripbait and it tore up the gearing, Then to make matters worse i sent it back to Diawa and they charged me 50 bucks to fix it! To bad Diawa doesnt have the quality customer service that shimano does. Keep the reel you'll be very happy with it I'm sure, and if you not, let me know!
