1328, Where are all the fly fishermen?

I was wondering if anyone on this sight was interested in fly fishing, like myself? If so, does anyone know some nice spots in the San Joaquin Valley? I was planning a trip up to the Sequais and was wondering if the Kaweah river was okay?

I used to flyfish quite a bit for both trout and warmwater fish and the occasional Saltwater trip. Unfortunately about 3 years ago someone stole all of my Flyrods along with several other rods, and I haven't replaced any of the flyrods. I've been rebuilding my collection of rods in general but haven't replaced the flyrods mostly for financial reasons and none of my fishing buddies are into the long rod.
As for Kaweah I haven't fished there at all but if you can give me an idea of the area of it you are going to try I could check with a few freinds and see what info I could find.

Tight lines and good drifts,
Wade

I've fished all forks of the Kaweah River. It depends what you want to catch. Personally, I would fish the Marble Fork to get further away and hunt the wild fish primarily. That's what I'm into. However, this time of year I would fish the upper Kings above Pine Flat Reservoir; drive till the road ends and hike further up. I would wait till late summer or fall to fish the upper Kern above Johnsondale - it is out of control on dries then. I've been sticking to local mountains lately as I have a cabin in GVL. If you like to hike there are many good spots that are going off right now on dries. No stockers, all wild fish. My next trip north will be to Mammoth in June - there are millions of creeks to access. I don't bother with the lakes, creeks are more fun. Anybody know where I can get a cheap canoe?
