What do you guys think about the Cabelas Guidewear? I've noticed that there are now different versions of the Guidewear that they are selling. I'm looking at getting an uninsulated jacket in either the original or the newer style. I've heard very good things in the past about the original Guidewear so I'm a little curious how the new stuff compares. The most important thing to be is having something durable and will keep me dry.

I have the uninsulated guidewear bibs, and I love 'em. If the jacket is the same material as the bibs as I'm sure they are, you should be happy with their durability.

BTW, just yesterday I received a "Cabelas $20 off a purchase of $150 or more" coupon. If my buddy doesn't take it, you can have it.

Winston I appreciate the offer, thank you. Your review echoes many of the same comments I've heard about the Guidewear line.

I have the uninsulated jacket and bibs. They are about 2 years old. If the newer models are like the older models I think you'll be pleased. I have had some problems with the liner fraying on the seam inside one of the arms and in the hood but I'll probably just send the jacket back to Cabelas in the summer time to get it fixed or replaced. As far as wet weather peformance, I don't see how anything could be better... you're just completely dry every time no matter what. The other day Nico and I were running in some heavy chop and a wave full on hit me and I wasn't even damp, anywhere.

Cody, I got your message and I just spoke to my buddy. He said he'd let me know in a day or two whether or not he's going to take the coupon. I'll get back to you before the end of the week.

I have been wearing the Cabela's Signature Series rain Parka/bibs...The bibs have been great, the material is very durable and the Parka is of the same, with double rain zippers and lots of pockets and extras. Even though I havn't been in any major rain down pours yet, I feel very confident in this product. Cabelas has the bibs and Parka at about $100 for each.

I've had a set for about 4 years now and I absolutely LOVE them. They are great, keep me warm and dry. Bring on the rain!

This is one of the best rain suites out there! I have had my suit now for about 5 years and just reapplied the water repellent to it. I have the insulated bibs and jacket and man I can fish in the coldest of stuff and be warm. Actually will start to sweat, so I just purchased the unisulated jacket to stop that problem. So go ahead and buy it, you won't be sorry!
