To make your image links work, take the parenthesis out of the file names. In other words, rename the file from 7271-9_003_(Medium).jpg to something like lurephoto1.jpg

The bait in your photo used to come in a clear plastic tube. They were called something Wolf Pack lures and for some reason I'm drawing a blank on the actual name of the lure. These baits were for sale at Angler's Outpost Marina at Santa Margarita lake in the late 90's. The name will come to me in a while :)

I went digging in the closet after rob joggled my memory and found the tube and the name too is GS Gregg Silks?

I also found a couple lures I bought I think at the same time. A ZPlug and a FlexBait. Anyone fishing these baits?

thanks guys

On your computer, right click on the file and click on rename. Then type in a new name without any parenthesis in the file name.

Phil, GS Trout sounds right. I don't think Gregg Silks made those baits but I could be wrong. Greg made/makes the flexbait and the z-plug.

You definetly have some old school stuff there.

I have a flexbait like the one you have pictured, just a different pattern. I acquired it from a guy at my work and he said it had been in his tackle box for years, he wasn't sure where he got it.

It's the early production run of the bait that Gregg Silks (maker of the z-plug) and a few partners of his designed. They only made a limited amount of them and made allot of changes over the years only never to put them back into production. Anyway, it's a pretty cool lure, Gregg said it's a killer trolling bait. I haven't fished mine much,it doesn't have much action except on a fast retrieve, which makes sense to troll it.

I thought I'd just hang on to it and see if it's worth something in the future.

I remember the flex bait and it had a lot of hype. I wanted one at the time. The GS trout was like the helocopter lure down here in So Cal. I dont remember hearing anybody cathing anything on them and they were in the clearence bins.

I caught a bunch of fish on the bigger GS Trout. The main problem with the baits were the light wire hooks George put in them. Caught a lot but lost more from hooks straightening out.

The Flexbait... The most worked on bait that went through a million molds to never hit the market. Good technology at the time of the first baits. 10 years later Greg is still working on them. Too bad he missed his window. They do catch a lot of good fish on them still.

That's funny you mention the helicopter lure, I was at the FHS yesterday and 1 of the booths had a few Helicopter Lures....haha

Good info.....I remember buying the flexbait at a FHS. I paid 20 bucks for it. I couldn't believe I paid that much for a lure ....lol

And like you mentioned not much action. I threw it maybe 2 times. Now that trolling comment makes sense.
Now I'm thinking it might make a good trolling lure up in the Sierras.

Thanks
