3518, Swimbait distance from shore.....

Hi guys, I do alot of shore fishing and I would like to get a little more distance on my casts.
What do you suggest to use regarding bearing oil? Right now I am using Hot Sauce, it seems I have to add a drop to the spool bearings every outing. I just feel I should be getting a little more distance.
How about some ceramic bearings. I think they are a little more expensive, but are they worth it?
The reels are 300DSV's, Luna 253 and Toro 50 and the rods are 7'11" to 8'2".
Maybe I need to adjust my casts. My friends laugh at me because when they see me cast they tell me "your not on the salt" . Fine then
I'm use to throwing Hammers, surface iron so I use a simple overhead cast, I guess thats what you would call it.

Any advice guys?

Thanks!

It could just be technique. Are you casting shorter than you can with other outfits or are the casts shorter now on these same ones? I doubt it's the oil. In fact, you shouldn't need to oil at all. You want the spool shaft clean and dry in the bearings so the bearings do the work. With the spool out of the reel and the tension knob off, run a pipe cleaner thru the bearings and the holes the spool goes thru to clean out any gunk. Don't oil and put it back together.

Also, maybe your cast control weights or mags are too high? Or, your tension knob is too tight? Or you're not loading the rod enough on the backswing and moving that energy immediately forward? Or, the baits you are using are under or overloading the rods? just some thoughts.
