Does anyone have a problem backlashing their Okumas? I backlash my reels a lot but my 400 seems to overrun VERY easy. Any help would be appreciated.

my 250lxa also backlashes easier than most reel I have. It hates the sidearm cast that my shimanos and revos handle fine for some reason.

other than that its a fine reel for the $$$

I have an Induron IDx 400 and I have not had any problems with backlashing (no more than normal) Have you pulled the side plate off and adjusted the brakes? (like on a Curado) If I had a complaint it is that access the internal brakes is not as convenient as Shimano low profiles, but then you have to do the same thing on the Cardiff.

SJ is right. Some guys dont realize that the Idurons have brakes.
Unscrew the 2 small skrew knobs on the handle side of the reel. Now pull that half of the reel off of the frame. Remove the spool and the brakes are on the side of the spool. I would start by moving 3 of the brakes to the on position. Thats moving them outwards. Put the reel back togethr and fish it. Use the cast controll knob to fine tune it. If its not casting far enough take a brake off. If its still too "free" put another brake on. The Indurons are great casting reels. Once you get your brakes dialed in you will love them again.

Another option is to email me your mailing address and I will send (both of you) additional washers to put under the cast control knob. This will apply additional tension to slow your spool down.

Wow thanks guys. I had heard about the brakes but had no idea where or how to adjust them. Mark I emailed you my address. Thanks.
