3373, AC Plugs how do you feel about them....
Posted by niKKo, Sun Feb-03-08 08:21 PM
I almost never hear anything about these plugs. I just picked up a 9" hand made triple real trout. Plan on using it at Castaic for stipers. They look a little ruff, I hope it works well.
Any of you guys fish the AC's?
Any tips? When to use them? places to use them? times to use them? should I even use it? would you use them?:-)
Thanks guys!

Nicco,

The AC Plug is my first swimbait and it produces. For the price it's not the most realistic looking or best looking swimbait, but it catches fish and one of my confidence baits.I have caught LMB and Stripers off of it in Castaic and Pyramid. I have also seen many big fish caught with other baits such as the MS Slammer, Z Plug, KPN, Smirks, AC Minnow, BBZ and Huddleston. The key is to give the lure you choose to use a chance to work. You must discipline yourself to forego the smaller fish for a once in a lifetime catch. Nowadays it seems like all these pretty nice looking lures are having an easier time catching fishermen than fish. I know I have more swimbaits in my bag than I really need, but I CAN'T HELP MYSELF. There are a lot of pretty lures out there that looks so pretty and has great actions.

All the lures I mentioned will catch fish if you use it and give it it's fair share of usage. As for me, I have several AC Plugs that have been productive for me even though it looks beat up. This lure makes a nice V wake and it's awesome when a big striper explodes on it.
