2814, Proper setup of artificial bait for bass fishing.

Hello,

I guess this is my thrid part of my flurry of questions. Went out fishing today, back to the tules. I had a 5" zoom robo worm, and I set it up to what I believe is a Texas Rig style. Some weights just at the top of the hook, and the hook exposed out of the bait. The hook is probably exposed about 3/4" from the top of the robo worm.

My issue, I got multiple strikes on this, like 4-5 in the same area. But I was not able to land one of these suckers. I had one fish hooked and almost in the boat, but it got away right when I was about to pull it up.

My questions:

Do I need to buy sharper hooks? What brands are preferred?

Also, does it sound like I am setting up my bait correctly? I just feel like with the number of strikes, I should have been able to set the hook at least once or something.

Any advice you can provide to a noob is appreciated.

Thanks all!
