Ok guys... I am an East coast bass angler who is looking to try swimbait tactics on my local small reserviors. Knowing these bodies of water I feel that smaller swimbaits in the 1oz to 3oz size are what I will be using. I am not looking to spend too much on a rod. Lets say $120 or less. If you have any suggestions on what rod to purchase it would be greatly appreciated. We dont have many fish over 7 lbs in these lakes so I feel that these smaller baits will work best. Thanks for any advice or suggestions you may have.

I got a rogue jr. swimbait rod off ebay for 50 bucks it is really nice for small to mid size baits, I cant really compare it to many other swimbait rods as I have not used too many but it is a great feeling rod it only weighs 4oz and is 7'9" so it is really light. Good luck let us know what you end up getting.

I just got the extra heavy version of this rod to demo. The rods are really nice, clean design, and definitely desiged FOR swimbaits. The medium heavy would be great for what you're looking for

These rods are rated pretty heavy lure wise but they are not stiff rods. The 7'9" extra heavy model would actually probably work fine for you. These rods are cheap rods, but they get the job done well enough.

If you can find a deal on one of the lighter action Rogue swimbait rods, those are nice too.

Dude, try looking for a real meatstick, stick with the bigger baits, you'll catch the better fish. Check out the Loomis BBR964C, fabulous rod.
