Hi,
Do you think the the BBR966 8' mag heavy would be a good rod for throwing the bigger soft plastic swimbaits like 12" and up? It almost seems like it's overkill for swimbaits, because it is rated for up to 10 ounce lures. I am thinking of ordering it online, but I'm not sure because I don't know what it feels like.

Its a great rod for the larger baits like 12" Slammers and the 3:16 Wake Bait. You'll be happy with it.
